Sharing MyChemicals

You can export and share the MyChemicals collection as a text file.

The text file can be used to quickly re-create the same chemical collection in any of the CAMEO Chemicals formats, so you can use the file to:

  • Re-populate the MyChemicals list in a future session of the website format or desktop program (since MyChemicals lists are not maintained between sessions in those formats).
  • Switch from one device to another (such as from the website to the mobile app) and re-create the list you were looking at on the first device.
  • Share your collection with someone else by emailing them the file, which they can open in their preferred CAMEO Chemicals format.

 Exporting MyChemicals as a Text File

  1. First, add all the substances of interest to MyChemicals. How do I add substances to MyChemicals?
  2. Click View MyChemicals in the sidebar to see the collection.
  3. Scroll down the page, then click Export.
  4. If you're asked whether you'd like to Open or Save the file, select Save File.
  5. Find the location on your device where you would like to save the file, modify the file name if desired, and then click Save. See the Save buttonSee the Save button

    You can keep the default name (Cameo_MyChemicals.txt) or rename the file to something else, before you click Save.

Note: The exported file only contains a simplified list of substances, which allows it to be used to re-create your MyChemicals collection. The actual datasheets aren't included in the export. How do I print and save datasheets and reports?
